College Interviews
An interview is usually optional, but some of the smaller schools still conduct interviews. These interviews are a two way street. They are interviewing you, as much as you are interviewing them. The school wants to know more about you, but the school also wants you to know more about it. Colleges will usually contact you first to make an appointment. If the school is far an alumni that lives near you may conduct the interview. Due to time restraints, some interviews are conducted in groups. Go to the interview with a list of questions you want answered.
The interview is also a good time to give the admissions representative information about yourself that you think will help you get into the school. Emphasize your achievements that aren't grade related. You might want to explain that poor grades during a particular semester were due to outside circumstances. You want the interviewer to know more about you. During the interview they will tell you more about the school, and also try to sell the school to you. These interviews are informal meetings. It's not like a job interview, so don't feel threaten.
