Teaching can be one of the most rewarding careers.  Teachers need to prepare their curriculum and keep up with any changing information and guidelines.  They spend hours outside of the classroom preparing for class and grading examinations and essays.  This is a challenging position, since it isn't always easy to keep students engaged in the classroom. 

Teaching is considered to be one of the most prestigious jobs in the world, since teachers educate the children of the future that will one day advance our society.  Their contribution is felt in every facet of our lives.  Though teaching may not be a financial lucrative investment of your time, it is rewarding in so many other ways.  If you want to make a difference in the future and feel like your job is serving a purpose, consider teaching.  If you enjoy working with children elementary and preschool teachers are always in high demand.  Many teachers continue on with their education throughout their own lives.  A master's degree is general required to teach at the K-12 level.  A PhD is sometimes required to teach at the graduate and college level.   

The teachers that are currently in the greatest demand teach inner city schools.  There is always a constant need for teachers that will specialize in math and science.  There are many programs available where you can obtain tuition assistance towards a teaching degree and license if you teach at an inner city school, or a high demand subject.
