The fine arts cover art history, painting, drawing and photography.  If you are artistic and would like to consider a fine arts degree, you can now do it via distance learning. 

Many fine arts majors are now moving on to visual communications or digital media.  The arts is an ever evolving idea, and technology as revolutionized art as well as every other aspect of our lives.  Illustrators pain or draw pictures for books, magazines, films, and such paper products as greeting cards, wrapping paper, stationery, and calendars.  Illustrators also create 'story boards' used in the making of television commercials and movies. 

Online Degrees In Fine Arts:

Designers make up another large group of visual artists.  They may specialize in such areas as industrial equipment, automobiles; clothing, furniture, fabrics, upholstery, and rugs.   Interiors designers design aspects of homes, restaurants, retail stores, office space and buildings. 

If you are concerned that this major will not be marketable when you find a job, consider minoring in a career oriented field, such as economics or accounting.
