Ways to Save Money

Paying for college is a challenge.  So here are some ways of saving some cash while you're at it.

• Buy used textbooks.  Not only is the important stuff highlighted for you.  It's usually 25% off the regular price.
• Sell your textbooks at the end of the year.  You won't get a lot of money from doing this, but it's still better then having a book that you may never use again. 
• Sign up for a student bank account.  The have less fees and low balance requirements, then typical checking accounts.
• Use your student discounts at local merchants.  A student advantage card can also help you save money on transportation and other things.
• Make sure to get your appropriate tax deductions and credits when you file your annual tax return.
• Save money on supplies by either buying in bulk, or using discount websites.
• Consolidate any previous student loans into one low payment, and lock today's low interest rates.
