Why Adult Learners Have An Advantage

If you are decided to back to school after working a few years, you have a distinct advantage over your education than traditional students ages 18-22. You have more experience, more dedication, are more motivation to learn.

When I was attending college at 20 years old, there were always a few students that were adult learners. They participated more in classroom discussions more. They worked harder than I ever did. They seemed to have a genuine curiosity to learn. After some 15 years of nonstop schooling, I'll be honest and say that I was sick of school.

I have tremendous respect for anyone that goes back to school after losing the momentum of continuous education. How often have we heard people say that now that I’m working, it’s very difficult to back to school. Adult learners are more practical by nature, and they are more willing to invest in their own future, at the expense of their current leisure time.
